1 Marine Safety Forum

The aim of the Marine Safety Forum is to improve safety within the marine sector of the offshore oil and gas industry, airing marine safety issues in an open forum of service users and providers, highlighting areas of concern and taking pre-emptive action, working with industry to share safety information and good practice.

2 Ampelmann Icemann offshore access system

The Ampelmann N-Type ‘Icemann’ offshore access system was designed to safely and efficiently transfer offshore personnel in temperatures as low as -40°C. The world’s first Arctic-class access system, it has a fully enclosed and insulated gangway that is operational in sea states of up to 3.5 m Hs.

3 Osbit boat landing and access system

UK-based Osbit Ltd is to deliver an innovative boat landing and access system for a jack-up accommodation vessel for Dong Energy’s Hornsea Project One offshore windfarm. It will utilise a unique access tower with an integrated crew transfer vessel landing that will enable technicians to safely access transfer vessels regardless of whether the vessel is in a floating position or has been jacked-up.

4 Seacroft Marine training course

Seacroft Marine Consultants has launched a 500m zone training course to address concerns raised by the UK Health & Safety Executive among others about operations in offshore installation safety zones and raise awareness about the need to control marine operations inside the zone.
